What materials are used in the construction of the buildings?

All steel components are sourced in the U.K. The frame of every building is made exclusively of galvanized steel. The determination of the weight of the steel for all the structural components is made by our licensed structural engineers after examining various criteria, including the distance of the span width and bays, as well as the snow and wind loads. The exterior cladding or sheeting is supplied by Corus (U.K.)and is generally 1.0 gauge Plastisol coated galvanized steel.

Are the buildings only available in standard sizes or are they custom designed?

Every building is custom designed and manufactured exactly to the customer's needs. Therefore, if boundary lines or other factors limit you, we can maximize the size of your building exactly to what is permissible.

Are the buildings competitively priced?

Even though our buildings are high quality material and custom designed, we are able to sell at very competitive prices due to our low overhead expenses and our national buying power from our manufacturers and suppliers.

Are there various options available for the buildings?

Yes. There is a wide assortment of doors, windows, partitions, mezzanine floors and skylights available.

Do the buildings come in many colours?

There are a range of attractive colours that enable you to choose combinations that allow your building to fit the local environment.

How is the steel coloured?

All the cladding, trim and Roof are factory coloured with a protective high performance plastisol/polyester coated finish. These are manufactured by Corus(U.K.). Colorcoat is produced by coating a hot-dip zinc coated steel strip with a factory applied oven cured paint system. Regardless of the coating selected, they are all warranted against rust, peeling, cracking, flaking, chalking, and fading.

Does the sheeting or exterior cladding come in different patterns?

Generally there is one pattern either wide rib or narrow rib (reverse rolled) the cladding can be placed horizontally if required but this is not generally used.

Do the buildings come insulated?

We are able to offer a range of insulation at varying thickness to suit your needs and requirements.

Do the buildings meet building code requirements?

All our designs comply with current British Design Standards and are certified by registered structural engineers.

How many weeks will it take to receive a building?

Each building order requires three steps: the engineering phase followed by the manufacturing and then the delivery. Generally the complete process takes four to six weeks. Once on site the buildings can be erected in a couple of days depending on the size.

What is the cost of delivery?

This is dependent on the size of the building. Generally for small to medium size buildings this is 351(incl VAT) this will be included within the quotation. For larger buildings this will be quoted separately.

Are there any locations where we do not deliver buildings?

No as long as there is sufficient access for our delivery vehicles individual cases will be assessed and hopefully catered for.

Who is responsible for erecting the building?

Since M3 Buildings only sells steel building kits, the buyer is responsible for coordinating the erecting of their new building. We can offer the services of our sister company to have one of our experienced crews erect your building for an additional charge, they can also offer a detailed quotation for all your construction needs and requirements which may include ground preparation concrete footings/slabs, kerbs roadways and drainage all requirements catered for by a long established quality assured company. Experience has shown that many buyers choose to erect their building themselves, or choose their own contractor to erect it for them. Depending upon the size and style of the building, two or three individuals can usually erect a building in a week. The instruction manual, the engineered plans, and the itemized bill of materials supplied with each building helps this task. There is no welding involved and most of the steel pieces have been cut-to-size and pre-drilled. Our office will assist you in planning this process as much as possible.

Do the buildings require planning permission?

Some of the smaller buildings and some agricultural buildings may not require planning permission. However it is best to check with the local planning office to be sure. M3 will supply A4 plans and elevations to assist in this. If detailed planning permission is required M3 can supply all drawings and calculations required to gain consent, these will incur small additional fees.
